Hello Friend! My name is Anastasia Petriaeva and I want to share a piece of my love for watercolor.

I’ve been studying this all my life: nine years of art, a creative university. Only with a brush in my hands do I feel that I am in my place. There is an inspiration and a lot of ideas, and a feeling that I have something to present to this world. Watercolor is not a simple material, it does not tolerate mistakes, and therefore sincere and honest. This is close to me. Every time everything is from scratch, in full force, here and now. For me, watercolor is a challenge. It is lively and dynamic, like the time in which we live, where everything changes so quickly and I want to have time to capture the elusive moment. I really like to portray the state of nature, I like to draw flowers and twigs, birds and animals, everything is natural.

I feel an urgent need for this. For me, painting is a way of self-expression and communication with the world, as meditation, and as just an activity that makes me happy and fulfilled. And I want to share this with you.

When I draw, time seems to slow down, it stops. Everything around ceases to exist. There is only this leaf and the whole world in it, filled with beauty and my reverence. This seems to be the same thing. Inexplicable sense of state here and now. This is Love. I’m not trying to catch the elusive one, I just let this stream of emotions pass through me.

This happens every time I take a brush in my hands or see a sunset or dawn that excites the imagination, a piece of nature’s life. So fast changing and at the same time so eternal.
