Description
Woodland Portal is 40x40x1.5 inches oil on
canvas square painting of a woodland glade with wild flowers and blue tits set
against light through the trees. It is semi abstract in style and the paint is
thickly applied and in very vibrant colours. It was inspired by the happiness I
feel at springtime in Sussex and particularly the feeling you get in a wood
when you are just about to leave it and find some new and interesting
landscapes. The blue tits are there because you often see them in English
woodland and forests and they are very pretty little birds. I called it
woodland portal as when I enter a path into a woodland or forest I sometimes
wonder if I will come out somewhere else entirely elsewhere to the area I went
in. I always loved the idea of doors into other realms and universes and this
is a common source of inspiration for me. This painting leads you to where you
want to go and the birds are the ones who know how to get there. Painted on
deep edge canvas, ready to hang, no frame needed. https://youtu.be/5agxP7Ky2l0
