Spring Calls is a 16x40x1.5 inches wide panoramic oil on
canvas painting of a spring landscape with magpies. It is a semi abstract
painting showing two magpies flying over a lake and the marshy wildflower
meadows that surround it. The main colours are pink and green and it was
inspired by a walk I took around Bewl Water lake in East Sussex last summer.
There is a marshy part of the lake where pink flowers bloom and lots of green
moss and reeds grow. This is my impression of that day. It has been painted as
part of a series of four landscapes about the seasons.
