“Showering Sereia” is a young woman showering in beautiful red, blue and white. The different shades mix while they are floating down the canvas and create a wide spectrum of colors.

The name ”Sereia” means ”mermaid” in Portuguese and is connected to water but also to seduction and tension. Sereia is beautiful but also powerful and highly dangerous. In old legends mermaids allured sailors with their beauteous singing, so they would leave their ships to take a step into the water where the mermaids would already wait for them to drag them down into the deep sea.

”Showering Sereia” is a mixed medium artwork. The colorful background is fluid acrylics. Sereia herself is painted with oil colors. Also I am going to add a resin layer to make her look even more smooth in a few!
